I had a ton of favorites this month, so let’s get started.
Here are all my favorites from the month of December:
Beauty
Tanya Burr 12 Days of Christmas Calendar: I did an unboxing of this, so head on over there and check it out 🙂 I haven’t had a chance to really play around with the products that came in this calendar, but for the ones I have they are amazing! Recently I tried the lashes, but with no luck. I am new to fake lashes, so I am still trying to learn how they work and whether they look good on me or not. I have tried the lip glosses, but I knew I would love them anyway because I have a bigger version of her regular collection lip glosses. I have recently tried the nail polish as well, but that will be a separate review in this post. Overall, I really liked what came in this product and will continue to try out the rest of the products.
Beaute Basics Eye Crayon in Sahara Gold: This product came in my first ipsy Glam Bag. Let me just tell you, I LOVE it! I use it as a base for powder eye shadows and it makes them just pop; and of course stay on longer. I have only used it with lighter shades, but I am dying to try it with darker shades as well. I’ll let you know what happens. Anywho, it is a great product and I love using eye crayons because they are super easy and quick.
Real Techniques Core Collection Brushes & Starter Kit Brushes: I picked these up because I wanted to try them and I also need some more/extra brushes. I absolutely love them. They are so soft and easy to use. I am going to stop there with the review because I am planning to do a separate post on them 🙂
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Natural Mint Scent/Flavor: This stuff is great. It is typically a men’s product, but since when has that stopped women from using it? Haha! This has been the best lip balm I have used in a long time. I get really gross, dry lips during the winter months so I need something that will keep my lips hydrated for hours on end. This stuff does the trick. I received a little baby sample in a freebie from Sephora, but I plan on buying a full-size when this runs out. Once you apply it, it has a cooling, tingling effect which I find great. I love that because it lets me know that it’s working.
Pacifica Power of Love Natural Lipstick in Nudie Red: I also received this product in an ipsy Glam Bag. This lipstick is beautiful on and it feels very moisturizing. I tend to steer towards nude colors for an everyday look, and this one works perfect. It doesn’t wash me out or look like my lips blend in with my skin. You have to be careful with nude shades because of that. It’s just an overall really great product.
OGX Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo and Conditioner: I bought this combo because I was finding that my hair felt very dry and brittle. I wanted softer hair and this has done the trick. I have only been using it for about a week and a half, maybe even two weeks now, and I am already seeing a difference. When I blow-dry my hair, it’s so much softer whereas before it felt so icky.
OGX Kukui Oil Anti-Frizz Hydrating Oil: I have a huge frizz problem and had been trying to find a good product that could tame my tresses after blow-drying, and even when I style my hair wet. This stuff works like a charm! It smells amazing and it comes out as more of a dry oil than wet. It’s just amazing.
Tanya Burr Cosmetics Nail Polish in Carnival Night: Just like any glittery nail polish, you have to apply several coats before you get the look you want. Well, there is no difference with this nail polish either. It is a purple shade with glitter specks in it and several coats were needed to get the look I wanted. But that is to be expected; I knew that going in. The only issue I have with this polish is it’s packaging. It is square and so it makes it difficult to open up the bottle. You really have to struggle to twist the cap off.

ipsy: I absolutely love this subscription service. It lets me try out beauty products that I wouldn’t otherwise go out and buy on my own. The Glam Bags are beautiful and fun as well.
Cavallini & Co. Hello London 2016 Planner: The year was coming to an end and I needed a new planner, so I went onto Paper Source and browsed through this site’s many styles. I landed upon this one and fell in love. It had everything I needed and a few added extras that I thought were cute. I have always wanted to travel to England, so that was my reason for purchasing this particular planner. Now, I have a little piece of England with me at all times 🙂 It is a small, compact planner so you can throw it in your purse/bag and pull it out whenever you need to check or add something to it. It also has this great stretchy strap to keep it closed.
Sprinkle of Glitter 2016 Planner: I bought this solely because I wanted a separate place to plan out anything to do with my blog. It is a great little item that is also travel friendly. Just throw it in your bag/purse and off you go. The inside is great too. On one page it has little ideas and places to write things and on the other side has the planner week so you can write what you’re doing, or in my case, my planned out blog posts.
Potter Style Q&A a Day 5-year Journal: I bought this back in September because I was looking for a cool and unique birthday present for my friend. Now, we both share a passion for writing and this was the perfect item for her. So, naturally I bought one for myself as well and I have loved writing in it ever since. It includes little prompts for you to answer or follow, which is nice because sometimes, for me, it’s hard to just sit down and write about whatever. Now, I have to admit that I don’t write in it everyday and I have become horrible at remembering to pick it up as well. Also, some of the prompts are horrible or I just don’t have anything to say that day. For example, a couple weeks ago there were at least three really morbid prompts in a row. I just had to go, “WHAT!?” I hope that my friend and I can look back through it in five years and laugh. I think it is a great gift idea for a friend so you can exchange and read what the other has been up to. Especially if you live in two different places.
I hope you enjoyed looking through what I loved this month. Let me know if you try any of these out.
