This book is designed by none other than Megan Massacre from the TLC show NY Ink. Now, I have never watched this show before and therefore have never heard of Megan. But I do have to say that she’s an amazing artist. Looking through this book makes me want to get a tattoo done by her. You can tell that she takes her time to get each and every detail exactly how she wants it so that it’s fun for the user to color in.
The illustrations in this book are gorgeous! They are so intricate and detailed that it’s sometimes hard to color in. There are a variety of designs to choose from. Some more detailed than others. I personally like to start with the more detailed designs first because they are my favorites to color in. Therefore, I started with one of the sugar skull designs. For a couple of years now, ever since I first saw the design on some stationery, I have been enamored by how colorful sugar skulls are. They are super gorgeous!
Another great thing about this book is that the pages are perforated. So, you can either choose to leave them in the book or pull them out for easier coloring. I have left the pages in the book and I’m thinking after I have colored them in I’m going to frame some of them.
The one thing I would recommend with this book is to use either fine tipped pens or colored pencils. Some of the details are really small and hard to color. I found that the fine tipped pens worked the best for me when coloring these details in.
Finally, here are some links with more info and the author’s bio.
