This month’s theme: The Cool Cut

Here is what I received in my October PLAY! by Sephora box and what I thought of each product.

Smashbox Always on Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat: This lipstick was awful! It did not dry down to a matte finish. It was drying and it transferred way too easily when I ate or drank something. I will give it props on the color. It is a very pretty, dark pinky nude shade.

The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Flash Photo Gloss: I will not be using this product because I don’t take a lot of photos or selfies. To say the least, I wasn’t excited/was disappointed a little to see this included in my box this month.

Farmacy Skin Dew Mist: The pamphlet says you can use this product as a setting spray. I tried that and it didn’t work as well as I wanted it to for this purpose. However, I do think it would work well to freshen up my makeup. I do like the scent. It has kind of a natural/medicinal smell to it, but it’s not overpowering.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum: This serum is supposed to resurface dull and tired skin to reveal a more glowing complexion. You all know that when it comes to skincare products, I like to test them out for several weeks before forming an opinion. I can say that I have successfully tested it out for at least 3 weeks, if not longer. Have I seen any results? I can’t really tell. Haha! Although, I do enjoy using it on my skin every night. It’s nice and refreshing. It also dries and absorbs rather quickly, which is good when you’re wanting to go to bed right away.

Madam C.J. Walker Scent and Shine Coconut Oil: This stuff is great. It really helps define my wavy hair. It smells great too. It kind of has a fruity scent to it, which is good for those who are not fans of coconut. Although I like this product, I don’t think I’ll spend the money on the full-size. I think regular old coconut oil could do the same trick and it’s probably less expensive.

Perfume Sample

Derek Lam 10 Crosby Silent St. Perfume: I did not enjoy wearing this. I usually like wearing muskier scents, especially during the autumn/winter months but this one is too musky. I smelled like a boy, not that there’s anything wrong with that, the whole day. Let’s just say I was happy to have this scent off me the next day.

I hope you enjoyed reading about the products I received in my October PLAY! by Sephora box. Let me know if you subscribe to this box and what your favorite/unfavorite products were.
