Since you all seemed to love last month’s post, but not so much the skincare one, I thought I would combine them.
Renpure Coconut Water Leave-In Conditioner: I bought this because I needed a spray-in conditioner and because my hair stylist told me that creams weigh down my hair. I trust her opinion. Anyway, my mom and I were looking in the shampoo aisle on our weekly Target run looking for one. She found this one and I said, “why not?” I tend to not be that picky about this particular styling item. Turns out, it has done wonders for my hair. It’s soo easy to use and it smells great. I love that I don’t have to yank at my wet hair when I have this product in. I have really knotty hair, always have, and this conditioner has relieved that. Unfortunately, almost right after I got it I accidentally dropped the bottle and the sprayer broke. Hence the blue spray bottle in the picture. For this particular product, I have not been a fan of the spray bottle but it will have to do until I buy this again.
L’Oreal Hydra Genius Liquid Moisturizer: By now, you all know that I have been loving the L’Oreal brand. Well, I can add this product to the long line of products I have been using and loving. I love this stuff because it has a watery texture and melts right into the skin. For awhile, I was using it in the morning for that reason and I was using up the rest of my Origins at night. Now, I’m using it both morning and night and it’s great. It claims that it offers 72 hrs. of moisture and that it boosts radiance. I can definitely say that it does offer the former, my skin is so soft for days. I’m not so sure on the radiance of my skin, but then again I’m not that great at determining whether a product has helped my skin or not. It comes in three forms depending on you skin type. I have the normal to dry skin one, but it is also available for those with oily and very dry skin. It also lasts forever because you don’t need a lot. I bought this several weeks ago and still have the majority of the bottle left.
Caress Mystique Forever Body Wash: This stuff has been nice, but body wash is one of those products that I tend to change every time I run out of the one before. I saw a commercial for this particular body wash and wanted to try it. I will say that the 12 hr. scent release is a bunch of crap. At least it doesn’t work with my skin. That being said, I do like the brand and would consider using the other scents in the brand line.
bareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor in ‘Swag’: I received this in a PLAY! by Sephora and did a first impression on it that I will link here. Ever since getting this lippie, it’s the only lip color I wore throughout August. Now, I don’t know why this color would work for summer but somehow it does. I love a good pinkie nude, so this is the perfect lippie for me. I am also over the whole matte trend, this lip color is matte, but this one is a comfortable matte. I will definitely reach for this color throughout the fall months.
Goody Hair Clips: I was looking for new ways to wear my hair and these were the perfect accessory. I tend to wear my hair up in a messy bun or ponytail, but with my hair shorter now it doesn’t look as good. These help keep my hair out of my face and allows me to wear my hair down more often.
Thayer’s Cucumber Toner: This has become one of my holy grail skincare items. I started using the brand months ago when my esthetician suggested I use witch hazel to clean my skin. I have been using it ever since. This toner is so soothing and cooling which is perfect for my sensitive skin. It smells amazing too. Before the cucumber, which by the way is literally a cucumber in a bottle, I was using the lavender one. When I think of lavender I think of that really strong smell that relaxes you. This one is not. It’s very light. I haven’t tried any of the other scents, but I would like to. I highly suggest this brand if you have sensitive skin like myself.
Baby Shampoo: This stuff is amazing! It has become my newest holy grail beauty product/tool. I use it to clean my brushes and sponges. Man, I don’t think I have seen them soo clean before. They also smell amazing. I used to use the Real Techniques brush cleaner, but after using baby shampoo the Real Techniques isn’t going to cut it. Don’t get me wrong, I love Real Techniques but like I said there is no denying the wonder that is baby shampoo.
Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos: This stuff did wonders to my skin. It got rid of any texture I had and made my skin feel smoother. Unfortunately, I ran out of this little guy and I am not willing to spend the $90 for the full-size. At least not at this moment, but it is worth it. However, I do believe that it’s important to invest in good skincare items.
Essie Nail Polish in ‘hi maintenance’: I was looking for more nude colors, especially with fall coming. This has been the only color I’ve worn all August thanks to my mom. She picked this one out after not liking the one I picked out. It is a very pale pink and if you want it to be more opaque, you will have to layer it up.
Cotz SPF: My friend Susan recommended this SPF to me at the end of last year or the beginning of this year and I just didn’t check it out then. I’m disappointed that it took me so long to. I wear it everyday, as you should, and it basically replaces my foundation or BB cream. It is slightly tinted and just evens out your skin tone. I like it much better than the bareMinerals one I was using. So, thank you Susan. Also, I just want to give a little shout out to her Instagram. If you love dogs as much as I do, then you will love her Instagram (kranz_susan). She posts pics and stories about her dog Bacchus, who by the way is one of the sweetest and cutest dogs I’ve ever met.
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub: I haven’t really been a fan of this brand’s products. Every one I’ve either smelled or tried, I wasn’t impressed. Until now! This is the perfect scrub for summer. It smells of citrus, probably because it has lime in it. This one is also great because it has sugar granules in it, which happens to be my favorite kind of exfoliating scrub. I have these weird bumps on the back of my arms and this scrub keeps them at bay. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it stings if you have any kind of cut or hangnail. So beware of that.
Well, that’s what I was loving throughout August. Let me know what you have been liking/loving this month in the comments below. I would love to hear from you.
Thanks for reading!
