I was recently rewatching the first season of The Bold Type and got to thinking about the term, or rather, hashtag #Girlboss and what it means to me.
Then this blog post idea came to me.
What does #girlboss #bosslady, #whatevertermyouwanttouse*insert here*, mean to me?
It means so much!
It means I can go out and get things done. It means I’m independent. It means I have a support system backing me up.
Are any of these easy for me? No, I never said they were. You, I, have/had to work at them. In fact, I’m still working at the things I want. I know they will take time and hard work, but I am willing to put in the work to earn those things. Your successes, my successes, aren’t worth anything unless I do.
I also think it means being fearless. There are a lot of things, circumstances, people out there that try to demean us or tear us down. You, I, have to remember to tune that out and keep pushing through to reach my goals.
I was going to talk about how failure/downfall fits into all this, but I think I might keep that for another day/another post.
What does #girlboss mean to you? I’d love to hear from you.
