The other day I went into Ulta just wanting to pick up a few things I needed. I ended up coming away from this shopping spree with things that I didn’t exactly need, but who are we kidding? Ulta is a hub for things you know you don’t need and want to resist, but you just can’t especially when there are such good deals 🙂 Since I walked out of the store with soo much, I thought I would do a haul. Here are the bits and bobs I purchased:
OPI Nail Envy Strength & Color Nail Polish in Hawaiian Orchid- Ulta Color Correct Concealer Palette
- Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover
- Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
- OGX Kukui Oil Anti-Frizz Hydrating Oil (2)
- Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick
The best thing about this shopping trip is that I received a free gift. Because I purchased two Ulta brand products ($19.50 or more value), I received a makeup bag full of more Ulta brand products. Here is what I received in the bag:
- Bag
- Brush Set
- Flawless Prime
- Matte Lip Cream
- Dual Ended Liner
- Eyeshadow Palette
- Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover Pads
- Voluptuous Volume Mascara
- Mini Nail Polish
- Blush/Higlighter Duo
- Lipstick
- Brow Pencil
- $5 off of $10 Ulta brand product purchase coupon
I thought I would also try these products out for you and tell you my first impressions of them. Here are those:
Ulta Color Correct Conceal Palette: So far, I don’t think it worked on me. It could be that I didn’t use it right or that I need to play around with it more. I’m not too thrilled with the formula. It’s kind of a gel/greasy texture, which isn’t the greatest for my skin right now. I have had an uptick in oiliness on my T-zone. Anyway, I do like that it blends in very well. I will suggest that if you purchase this product to use your fingers to blend it in. I tried both a brush and my fingers and found that the latter works better.
Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick: I love this product! Before this, I had never tried a cream blush and now I think it is my new favorite beauty product 🙂 It blends well and the color stay is amazing. It leaves a nice wash of pinky color on your cheeks 🙂 I would recommend using your fingers when blending this product. I tried both a brush and my fingers to blend the product and found that my fingers worked best.
Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover: This stuff works wonders! It is soo easy to use and really does do what it says it does. I like that it keeps both my nails and the skin around my nails hydrated so I’m not left with that dry feeling. The only thing I will suggest is to use an orange stick/cuticle pusher. I used a cuticle trimmer and it DID NOT works as well.
OPI Nail Envy Strength & Color Nail Polish: Back in December, I got acrylic nails and had them on into January. After that I removed them and they left my nails feeling very unhealthy and brittle. During the winter months, my nails are usually not up to par but having the acrylic on them didn’t help. I heard about this nail treatment recently and decided I really wanted to try it out. This line of nail polishes have several choices, but I new I wanted some color hence this choice. I love this color! It’s a pretty pale pinky/purple. Usually, colors like this wash me out or look like they blend into my pale skin. This one doesn’t. If you have pale skin and not the healthiest nails like myself, I would suggest this treatment in this color. As for the strengthening aspect, only time will tell. Hopefully I will see some results. When I do, I will let you all know 🙂
Let me know what you like to buy/look at your favorite beauty store(s).
