This time of year is usually rough on anyone’s skin and it’s no different for mine. Because of that, I thought you might like to have a peek at my skin care routine 🙂
My skin care routine hasn’t changed since probably high school. I also don’t change it much between seasons, but I probably should. The only thing that changes constantly is the brand of moisturizer I use. I am definitely not a beauty guru, but I think that doesn’t matter. I know I would like to hear a skin care routine from someone who is just like me.
Here goes the process:
The first product I use is a face wash. Now I usually wash my face in the shower because it’s easier and the warm water and steam opens up the pores so you get a deeper cleanse. Or so I hear 🙂 The face wash I use is Artistry Essentials Balancing Cleanser.
The second product I use is toner. When I get out of the shower, I grab a cotton pad and gently rub it around my face. Toner is good after you cleanse your face because it will close up your pores so dirt and grime doesn’t continue to clog. Again, so I hear 🙂 The toner I use is Artistry Essentials Balancing Toner.
After toner, I will use a spot treatment only if needed. Lately, I have been using it religiously because I have been breaking out SO much. The product I use is Clearasil Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream.
Lastly, I use moisturizer. This product, for me, changes all the time. Right now, I am using Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer Pink Grapefruit. I always, always moisturize no matter what condition my skin is in because if I don’t moisturize my skin will overcompensate and produce more oil to keep hydrated.
Now onto some extras I throw in. Twice a week I will use two different treatments. I usually do these on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but you can certainly alter so it works for you. One day I will use a pore cleansing mask, Artistry Essentials Pore Cleansing Masque. I swear I have the biggest pores on the planet and so I added this product in hopes that it would help. On the other day, I will use a charcoal cleanser, YesTo Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser. This also helps with cleansing the pores because charcoal draws out the dirt.
Finally, and this is the most recent product I have added, is an eye cream. It has been WAY past due for me to start using anti-aging skin care products. I have learned that you should start using them in your early twenties and I am 26. Anyway, I have been applying the cream at night but it is preference base. There are eye creams on the market that are for either day or night. It just kind of depends on your skin and what you would like to use. The eye cream I am using is Artistry Time Defiance Lifting Eye Creme.
This is my skin care routine. I hope it gives you an idea about your own. Everyone has different skin, so use products accordingly. I have combination skin, so I like to use products that are both moisturizing and help with the oiliness. Unfortunately, most of the products mentioned are not available in stores but I did link the products you can buy in stores.
