July Play! by Sephora Unboxing & First Impressions

I received my first Play! by Sephora box the other day. I kind of had mixed emotions about it because of all the mixed reviews I’ve heard. Well, so far I am not disappointed. The products are all really great. Not only did I receive products/brands I’ve never heard of or tried before, but I received ones that I have heard of and wanted to try. This box is great for that. Plus, I’m a Sephora addict so this lets me try products before taking the plunge and buying the full-size version. Probably not the best for my bank account though 🙂

Let’s get to what is inside, shall we? What you receive each month is a Play! by Sephora card & booklet. The booklet explains what each product is and does and the card you can redeem in store for tips and 50 extra Beauty Insider points with any purchase. If you are not aware of Sephora and/or their rewards program, Beauty Insider is the first level. Here is the website that explains the program: http://www.sephora.com/about-beauty-insider

All the products come in a cute, little pouch that is reusable and has a cute design that reflects the theme. This month’s theme is Effortless Summer. The typical pouch will include 5 to 6 products with a perfume sample as an added bonus. Okay, okay! I know you’re all waiting for me to tell you what I received, so here you go 🙂

Products

NEST Fragrances Citrine: This is a little something extra in every box each month. I tried it out as soon as I saw it because I’ve been seeing them all over, not just on the Sephora website. I like that it came in a spray instead of the kind you have to flip onto your wrist. The scent is beautiful. It’s light and fresh, perfect for summer. Although, if you smell it full-on it’s pretty strong. But I find that with any fragrance really.

First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay: I wasn’t really all that excited about this one because I have received it before with a purchase from Sephora. Although, I prefer this size sample compared to the previous one.

Ouai Wave Spray: I saw this and was immediately excited. I have been hearing great things about this brand, mainly from Estee Lalonde’s YouTube channel and her blog. I’ve been wanting to try this hair care brand ever since she started raving about it 🙂 I finally have the chance to without buying a full-size product! Even better, it’s a wave spray! I have naturally curly/wavy hair, thank you mom & dad :), and I’m always looking for products that will enhance that feature but also keep my waves/curls tame and looking half-way decent. Hopefully, this will be the one.

Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer: All the beauty YouTubers rave about this brand. I’ve never actually tried this brand out before, so I’m looking forward to trying this product out.

BeautyBlender Blotterazzi: I am soo excited to try this product out. BeautyBlender is a well-known brand and everyone loves it. I have never tried out any of their products, but I have been wanting to. I think this is the perfect one to try. I swear I have the oiliest skin on the planet, so I always have oil-blotting sheets with me. This is the perfect alternative to those. Not only is it reusable, but it’s also travel-friendly! I can’t wait to try it out.

Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer in Chocolate: I’m super excited to try this out. I have been oohing and ahhing over this brand’s products forever and just couldn’t bring myself to spend the kind of money you have to on the full-size. It’s the perfect size to try out, a little goes a long way with bronzer trust me, and it smells of chocolate! They use cocoa powder in a lot of their products, which is an added bonus 🙂

Well, those are all the products. Maybe you will see them in future posts. Let me know if you receive PLAY! by Sephora and what your favorite product(s) were from your box. Or, if you don’t receive this box, what is your favorite beauty product?
