YouTube Made Me Buy It. Is it Worth it?

This was going around the YouTube community pretty much all of the end of last year. I’ve been wanting to do it on here ever since, but when I decided to revamp the blog it got put on the back burner.
To be honest, the majority of the beauty products I own are because I heard about them on YouTube. So, instead of going through every single one, I thought I would select a few and let you guys know if they are worth the money.
I will warn you that I don’t remember who influenced me to buy all of these product, but I will mention the ones I do remember :p
Let’s get started, shall we?

IMG_2049[1]Real Techniques Brushes & Sponges: First, the ones behind this line, Pixiwoo, were the ones that convinced me to try out their brushes. I have to say that these are some of the best brushes and sponges I have ever used. That’s saying something because I hadn’t used many before purchasing these. They are soo soft and easy to clean. I love that they are multi-purpose too. You can use one brush or sponge to do so many things. Totally worth the money.

IMG_2034[1]CoverGirl Fibers Mascara: I first heard about this mascara from Ingrid Nilsen. She was talking about how volumizing and elongating the product made her lashes. I already was and am a fan of CoverGirl mascaras, so I HAD to try this one out. I LOVE it. It really is worth the money. The only thing I don’t like about it is the color selection. I wish it came in more shades.

IMG_2047[1]Urban Decay Setting Spray: Gabbie Lindley raved about this spray on her channel. I was in the market to try out a setting spray, seeing as I had never heard of such a concept and was a little skeptical as to if it actually did anything. It really does! It keeps the makeup in place and helps keep it fresh during the day.

Physicians Formula BB Cream: I heard Allana Davison talking about this in one of her videos. I decided to try it because she said it was her go to everyday makeup base. It’s nice, but it felt very cakey on my face. I also didn’t like that it came in two shades. I got the lightest shade and it’s still too dark for me.

Urban Decay SkinColor Correcting Fluid in Peach: Lily Pebbles convinced me to try this color corrector. I had tried others before and wasn’t convinced that they work. This one actually does. I got the peach one because this shade helps with dark circles. I have really dark, purple ones and really need a lot of help covering them up. This stuff does the trick. It’s easy to blend and doesn’t cake up under the eyes, which is always a plus.

IMG_2048[1]Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder: I was looking for a new setting powder to try and when I watch a video from Lucy and Lydia, they mentioned this one. I like it much better than the Rimmel Stay Matte. I think it does a better job at setting makeup. It feels nice on the skin. It’s a little more expensive than the Rimmel, but not by a lot. Totally worth the money.

IMG_2046[1]Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer: Lucy and Lydia also convinced me to try out this primer. I have tried several primers before this one, but I’m not a huge fan of this one. I still like the Smashbox one I use. I used this when my T-zone was still pretty oily and found that my makeup just slid off my nose, where I’m the oiliest. Like I said, I just think there are better ones out there.

Anything ColourPop: All of the YouTube beauty vloggers rave about ColourPop as a whole. And I don’t blame them! I absolutely love this brand’s products. So inexpensive, but great quality.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 604 Milk: Emma from EmmasRec was talking about this on her channel and how she likes to use this in her waterline. It is a great waterline color. It really brightens up any eye look.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lip Gloss: Of course Tanya Burr herself convinced me to buy this 🙂 I’d say it’s worth the money, but it really is more of a sticky consistency gloss. Not a fan of that fact, but if you want a nice wash of color on your lips I would give any of these a try.

IMG_2035[1]Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Anti-Aging: Can you tell that I like Urban Decay yet? Lolz! I just really love this brand and their products. And this product is no exception. I first heard Zoe from Zoella talking about this product. It really is great. It keeps your eye looks going and going throughout the day. There isn’t any creasing either. The best part is the anti-aging factor. Our eyes are the first to show aging, so having a makeup product act as a skincare product also is awesome.

IMG_2054[1]BH Cosmetic Carli Bybel Palette: Eleventhgorgeous raved about this palette in one of their haul videos I believe. I saw it and immediately wanted to go out and get it. I love that it has two products in one palette, eye shadows and highlighters, and that they are soo gorgeous. I love doing a neutral eye for everyday and this palette is perfect for this. The shadows also have a bit of a shimmer, so it adds a little glitter to your everyday looks.

IMG_2053[1]Tanya Burr Cosmetics Cheek Palette: Again, Tanya convinced me to try out this product. I’m glad I did. I love the highlighter and blush in this palette. Both are great because you don’t need a lot of either to get the look you want. I’m a little sad about the bronzer being to dark for me, but I think overall it’s worth the money.

IMG_2051[1]Urban Decay Ultimate Basics Palette: With this one, I was super excited to hear all the beauty YouTubers talking and raving about it. I have been dying to buy any of the Basics palettes, but they are all soo expensive and didn’t want to spend the money on several different ones to get the looks that I want. This is the perfect palette for just that. All the colors are gorgeous and I love that they are all matte. Before this palette, I didn’t have enough matte shades in my collection. If you’ve been like me and have been fawning over the other basics palettes, then I highly suggest you just get this one. You’ll have every shade you’ll ever want 🙂

IMG_2033[1]Benefit Gimme Brow: Finally, we come to the last product. Again, all of the beauty YouTubers love this brand and this product. In fact, this is a cult classic. This was the first product I had ever used from this brand and I’m glad I bought it. This is the perfect no-fuss brow product. I hate doing my brows and don’t really like to mess with them that much when it comes to doing my makeup. All I have to do is swipe this on my brows and I’m out the door. I like that it gives my brows some extra oomph and color. I also like the little wand applicator. If you’re looking for a new brow product, then I highly suggest this one.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. I had fun going through my collection to find these products. Let me know in the comments below if you’d like me to do a part 2 of this.
