I just want to start off by saying that the bag for this month is very different than the usual one Sephora packs the products in. As you can see from the pictures above, the products came in a clear, plastic envelope style bag. I think the bag is cool, but part of me wishes that it wasn’t see through. I’m the kind of person who likes to grab the products out like a grab bag. I like the surprise each month.
Anyway, the theme of this month is ‘The Rising Stars’.
Now that I told you the theme, shall we move onto the products? Yes, I think we shall. Here is what I received in May:
Nudestix Magnetic Lip Color in Greystone: I wasn’t excited about this product, mainly because the color is something I wouldn’t usually grab for. I think it would be better suited for darker skin tones than mine. I find this unfortunate because I think that this would be a great eye color, but since this particular lip formula is matte it would be pretty uncomfortable sitting on the lid. For me, the only thing it has going for it is that it removes pretty easily. I just took some micellar water to it and scrubbed a tiny bit and it came right off.
Trestique Highlight + Perfect Multipurpose Stick in Maldives Luminescent: Now this product was also something, at first, I wasn’t too excited for. I have received products from this brand before in other subscription services and wasn’t impressed with them. However, after I swatched this highlighter I was sold. It’s this beautiful champagne shade that glides on so smoothly onto the cheekbone. It gives off a nice subtle highlight, but when the light hits it ‘ooh! Bam!’ it’s poppin’. It gives off kind of a wet look, which I like. The other thing I have always liked about the brand is the packaging. It kind of freaks you out at first. You think the product is open, but really that’s just how they shape them.

Belif Hungarian Water Essence: This is the product I was most excited about and to try. I have been following this brand on Instagram for a few months now and have been dying to try all their products. You guys know how much I love my skincare and I can just add this to the long list of skincare products I love. I liked that this moisturizer was lightweight and watery. I tried it as a nighttime moisturizer, but I think it would work great as a daytime moisturizer because of the lightweight texture. I also like the scent; it’s not too heavy. I do recommend that you only need one pump of the product. A little goes a long way. The only think I wasn’t too keen on was that it felt sticky on the skin after applying. However, it does absorb and dry down quickly so the stickiness fades.

Rahua Omega 9 Hair Mask: This was the other product I was excited about. Before this, I had heard great things about the brand and the other products in the line. So, when I saw this I wanted to try it right away. I found that I like the consistency of the product. It has a thick, creamy consistency and it just feels like it coats the strands really well. I also like the scent. It has a herbally smell to it and this reminded me of Aveda products. After applying, I didn’t really feel or see a difference in my hair. I did use this a couple days after getting my hair done, so that could explain why. I definitely would need to continually use this product to get a good feel for it and see any difference.

Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil: I have received samples of this product before, so seeing it in this bag wasn’t a huge surprise for me. I was happy to get it, but it would have been nice to receive something a little different. I will say that it did work, to a certain extent. It removed most of my makeup, but I had to go in with some micellar water to remove the rest of the eye makeup on my face. I also had to use more than the recommended amount on the bottle. It says that you should use a teaspoon, but that wasn’t enough. I liked the scent and that it didn’t irritate my eyes. I have sensitive eyes and certain products will irritate them.
Perfume Sample
As always, there is the extra bonus of a perfume sample. This month I received:
Tocca Stella: I thought it was pretty weird at first. It’s almost too strong, but once it mellows out it becomes more feminine and light. It has almost a sweet smell to it, but not sickly sweet. As I’ve said many times before, I’m horrible at describing scents. I will include the notes down below.
Fragrance Family-Fresh
Top Notes-Blood Orange
Middle Notes-White Freesia
Base Notes-Sandalwood
Overall, I was pretty satisfied with this bag. There were a lot of skincare products, which is nice and I like my skincare but I would’ve liked more variety.
Let me know if you try any of these products out and whether you liked them or not. I would love to hear your opinions.
Thank you for reading!
Jess
