I thought it would be fun to do a little beginning-of-the-year book tag on here. I have a lot of reading goals this year and I figured that doing this, it would keep me accountable. Before I get started, I need to give credit where credit is due. The 2025 Book Tag comes from the genius brain of Larry aka Larry Reads across the internet.

How many books are you planning on reading this year?

I want to read 40 books this year.

A book you will likely reread this year.

There are a few books I want to reread this year. 

  • Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli (Rebel Witch is the sequel and want to reacquaint myself with the story. Plus, I read Heartless Hunter so quickly and was so immersed that I literally have forgotten what happened).
  • The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon (I read this years ago, right when it was released. I can’t remember what it was about and I want to finish the series).
  • A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen (The second one in the series releases this year).
  • Human Design by Jenna Zoe

Priority reads on your TBR.

  • The Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn
  • Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings (Update: If you read my February Reads blog post, you know I DNFed this)
  • Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli

An author you won’t read anymore.

This one is easy…Madeline Miller. I recently finished my second book of hers, The Song of Achilles, and I knew almost right away that this was the last book I would read of hers.

Something new you want to read.

I’m not exactly sure what this question is asking specifically, but I’m going to interpret it in this way…I really want to start reading other genres other than romance. There are many, many, many classics I never read, so I would like to throw those into the mix.

The pressure of having to read all the books I say I’m going to read in my mood read posts on social media.

What to expect from me this year on book content.

Well, we’re already 2 1/2 months into the year but I’m going to continue with monthly reading wrap-up posts here. And on social media, I will continue doing sit down videos of my monthly wrap-ups as well as mood reads for the month. I might also do some individual reviews on all platforms if I really enjoyed the book. Honestly, I’m gonna take it pretty easy and just see where inspiration takes me.

How has your reading taste evolved from last year?

It hasn’t really changed much. I read a LOT of romance in 2024 and I will continue to do so this year. After reading some romantasy and fantasy reads last year, I really hope to get back into my fantasy era again. Oh! And I’m reading a lot of books that are in a series.

Book content creators who inspire you.

Advice you have for someone who wants to start posting bookish content.

Just do it! When I decided that I wanted to start posting about the books I was reading, I thought nobody was going to care. It’s simply not true. The right people will find and like your content. So post that video or post that picture.

That is my version of the 2025 Book Tag. If you’re a reader and content creator like myself, I encourage you to do this too.
