*I was kindly provided an ARC copy to read from the author. This means that I was sent a copy in advance of release. I wasn’t required to post a review in exchange on this platform, but Lexi is an indie author and supporting indie authors is important to me.

Review:
At first, I wasn’t so sure this one was going to be for me. This is my first foray into true dark romance novels and at times, the dynamic between the two main characters had me questioning whether I actually like this genre. Especially in the beginning. I think what had me reeling is that I share a first name with the FMC, Jessica. It did make me a bit more uncomfortable. However, I powered through and continued to read. After reading and finishing Deeply Examined, I’m still not sure if the dark romance genre is for me. I’ll have to read another one to answer that for sure. I will say that there were some parts that made me swoon, but there were parts that got me riled up and pissed off at Dr. West mostly. In the end, did I find this book enjoyable? To a certain extent, yes.
I want to thank Lexi Davis for giving me the opportunity to read her new book. It’s out now wherever you choose to buy books and on Kindle Unlimited.
