Synopsis

When I read the synopsis of this book, I was intrigued but I was also hesitant. As someone who is far removed from college life, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like reading a book set in a college town and setting. Turns out I was sorely mistaken. I absolutely ate this up. I love a good and true enemies to lover story and this The Girlfriend Agreement delivered ten fold. When I first started reading Damian’s POV, I found myself rolling my eyes and scoffing at anything he said in his interactions with Lexi. Why? Because I had a Damian in my life. I think we’ve all had a Damian in our lives. The one who is cocky and thinks he can get away with it because most woman swoon in their presence.
As the story continued, I started to warm up to Damian. He was a lot deeper and is more than meets the eye. Then there’s Lexi. The bullshit detector, the math genius, and sees the world differently than most. She saw right through Damian and I loved every minute of her interactions with him. She is very blunt and tells it like it is. I saw a little bit of myself in her. I’m not neurospicy like her, but I actually really liked that aspect of her. It let me step into someone’s shoes and see what it’s like living in a brain like hers. Btw, she has a type of synesthesia that deals with math. It was really interesting to see how she sees the world.
All in all, this book had me cackling, swooning, and all up in my feels.
