Synopsis:

Our MMC (don’t remember his name) returns to his hometown after his police captain forces him to take leave after an incident. He is dreading it because Ember Falls holds a lot of heartache. Little does he know, and soon finds out, the source of that heartache has also returned to Ember Falls. He much rather avoid anything to do with his past, but he is forced to face it when our FMC, Carmen, won’t let him forget. She in fact is determined to win him back and show him how much she still loves him and that she made a mistake all those years ago when she left.

Review:

Mistletoe Misses is like a Hallmark movie in book form. Normally, I would say that is a good thing but in this case I felt very soso about this book. The story was cute, but as a reader we spent a lot of time waiting for the MMC to get over himself and the pain he went through when the love of his life (FMC) left to go live her dream after high school. However, in a world full of very spicy romance novels it was nice to read a closed door romance. Don’t get me wrong! I love me some spicy romances, but it’s nice every once in while to read something more wholesome. I also appreciated that this more from the MMC’s perspective, even if he was pretty insufferable for a majority of the story. As you can tell from the synopsis, this story didn’t exactly stick with me and how invested (or not) I was in the couple. I mean! I can’t even remember the MMC’s name! To be fair though, I’m horrible with names.
