I started the month finishing up my spooky season reads and ended it with the beginning of my festive/holiday reads.
Finished
Uncharmed by Lucy Jane Wood-Physical
This was Lucy’s second book*and I was kind of disappointed that I didn’t love it as much as her first. I found it took me awhile to get into this story. It finally picked up towards the middle into the end. Overall, I still think it’s worth the read.
Not My Little Drummer Boy by Caroline Corvin-Kindle, eARC**
This was one of the ARCs I read this month and one of my first festive/holiday reads of the season. This is the second book in the Stellar Riot series by Caroline and yes, you need to read the first one before this one. You can check out my review.
The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn-Kindle
I continued my goal of reading all the the Bridgerton books from the start and picked up The Viscount Who Loved Me*. Honestly, I liked this season from the show more than I liked this book. Anthony was more annoying in the book than he was portrayed in the show. I just couldn’t get past that while reading.
An Offer from a Gentleman by Julia Quinn-Kindle
Yep! I got two of the Bridgerton books read this month. To be fair though, this* was a reread for me. Surprisingly, the second time around this story read faster to me. I still loved the story, but I did change my star rating for it. And now that we know who’s playing the FMC in the show, all I did was picture the actors while reading. At least I’m ready for the new season.
Mistletoe Misses by Alexandra Grace-Kindle**
Mistletoe Misses was a book that was very much ‘meh’ for me. My full review is available here.
Books I Started/Continued to Read
Voyager by Diana Gabaldon
Yes! I’m STILL reading this damn book. To be fair, I did put it down for a really long time in between reading other books. My plan is to finally finish it in December.
The Women by Kristin Hannah
Most people start their Kristin Hannah journey with The Nightingale. I decided to start with this one because 1. It is one of my Book of the Month books that I wanted to finish this year and 2. I don’t follow the crowd. So far, I am enjoying this one.
