Ricki & the Flash

16.09.15 | jesslynnwrites | No Comments

I went to go see Ricki & the Flash with my parents two Saturdays ago. It was AWESOME! For those of you who haven’t seen it or are not aware of this movie, it is about a woman (Ricki) who is estranged from her children and how she finds her way back into their lives.
The way the situation played out was bumpy and beautiful. It made me wonder how my parents would handle the same situations. There were so many characters I loved and so many I wanted to shake and say, “What is your problem?!” Meryl Streep was amazing as usual 🙂 But my favorite character was Julie, who is played by Meryl’s daughter Mamie Gummer. Julie is witty and sarcastic and I loved how it played out on screen. Ricki was a great character as well. These two characters are strong women and it was great to see how they overcame the struggles of their two particular situations.
There is so much more I could say about this movie, but I don’t want to give too much away. Just go see the movie yourself and let me know what you think.
