July Skincare Loves

26.07.17 | jesslynnwrites | No Comments

As I mentioned in Sunday’s post, I have decided to split up my favorites into two categories. Here is the second category, skincare.

NOW Oils (Almond, Jojoba, & Avocado)-Recently, I have been getting into using oils in my skincare routine. These oils are the new additions. I have been using them in various ways and have been seeing really good results. I mainly use the almond oil for a moisturizer, but lately I have switched to a lotion that I mention later in this post. The jojoba oil has really helped with my hair. I have coarse, fine hair but since adding a few drops to my shampoo has really made my hair softer. The avocado oil has reduced my redness, which if I remember right from my research that it will help with that. I used to have a lot of redness on my cheeks and around my nose, which I still have, but lately I have noticed that my skin in those spots is less so. So all in all, I highly recommend looking into natural oils for your skincare.

Pixi+Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse-I have mainly been using the solid oil cleanser to remove makeup. It has done a good job of doing so, which is surprising. When I first started using this product, I wasn’t much of a fan. I found that the solid oil cleanser didn’t remove as much makeup as I would like. Once I started using it more, especially this month, I found it was doing a better job because I had found the trick to using it. That being said, it doesn’t completely remove my mascara but that’s because I use waterproof formulas. Other than that, it has been the perfect cleanser.

Origins A Perfect World Age-Defense Eye Cream with SPF 20-I received this product as a freebie in one of my Sephora orders. I have absolutely fallen in love with this stuff. Granted I was already an Origins fan, but all the products I have used so far I have loved. This one brightens my under eye in the mornings and feels nice and cooling. I like this because it makes my skin look awake.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30-My motto, at least now, is to always always protect your skin. I used to be the one that would not wear any kind of SPF in the sun. But I have been burned too many times, no pun intended. I started using this brand last year and immediately bought more. I like the fact that it’s not only a SPF, but it moisturizes my skin too. The scent is awesome too! It smells like the beach, which is always a plus for me because I’m not a fan of the traditional SPF scent.

IMG_2575[1]Schmidt’s Lavender+Sage Deodorant-I have put this product on here despite me having iffy thoughts about it. Overall, I like that it’s natural and it keeps me generally dry and not smelly. On the other hand, I’m not a fan of the texture. As soon as I opened it, the top fell apart. It’s soo soft because of the natural ingredients. I’m also not a fan of the scent I chose, but seeing as this was the only one on the shelf I had to go with it. Maybe the other scents are better?

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 in Natural Mint & Shea Butter-This lip balm has been a long-time favorite of mine. It has been the only lip balm to really keep my lips moisturized. In fact, I love it soo much I convinced my brother to start using it. He has loved it too.

Zoella Beauty Wonder Hand Hand Cream-This too has been a long-time favorite. If you’ve been here awhile, you know that I’m pretty much obsessed with anything that has to do with Zoe Sugg/Zoella. This hand cream is no exception. I love the scent. I love the consistency. I love how moisturizing it is. I think it’s just one of those products you need to go try yourself to know what I mean.

Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips Lip Balm-I purchased this lip balm mainly because since I started a new medication, every part of me has been dry. I need something more heavy duty than my Jack Black and I thought Vaseline would do the trick. I don’t apply it everyday, but I do think it has done the trick. I’m not usually a fan of a lip balm in a pot, but I have gotten over that fact. I am also not a fan of the scent. It does smell of roses, but it’s not too offensive to the nose. I just kind of get over that fact because I know it’s helping. Now, you may be asking why I bought the rosy lips version and not the original version. Well, the answer to that is that I just wanted a little oomph and fun to my regular lip balm application.

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Lotion-Honestly, I had forgotten that I had this lotion until I did a clear out. But since I found it again, I can’t stop using it. I have been a long-time, have I been using this term a lot?, fan of B&BW and their products. I think it’s just because it’s a memory from childhood. Anyway, this lotion is honestly the best. I love how moisturizing it is, which is kind of actually surprising to me. I don’t know why it’s so surprising, maybe because when I think of all the scented products from the store I think it’s just not the best quality ingredients. Who knows? Back to how moisturizing it is. Every time I apply it, my skin feels soo soft. I love vanilla scented anything, so hence the Warm Vanilla. But, I’m not so sure I’m a fan of this vanilla scent. It’s not enough vanilla. In fact, it does smell pretty fake and plasticky. Other than that, like I said, I have been loving this lotion.

I hope you liked reading about what skincare products I have been enjoying using this month. Let me know in the comments below which skincare products you have been loving during the month of July. Who knows, they might become my favorites and featured in a future post.

Thanks for reading!
