In a Different Key: The Story of Autism~Blogging For Books

If I’m being honest, this was a very hard book to get into and read. It is very much set up like a book you would read for a college course. Although interesting, I think I would not recommend for an everyday read.

I picked this book because I was interested in the topic. I had watched Parenthood and saw how the character, one with Asperger’s, interacted with his family and how the family got along with raising a child with the condition. I just wanted to learn more because of it. I am also looking to get a degree in Psychology, so when I find books to read that deal with the human mind and how it works I like to pick them up.

I will give a little credit to this book and say that I did learn quite a bit, how the diagnosis developed and who was behind its development being some of those things. It is also well written in that you don’t have to be an expert to read it.

If you are an expert or someone who is just interested in reading about Autism, I would recommend this book to you. Just be warned, it may take you a bit to get through it.

Thanks for reading!

Jess
