Blindsided by You by Caroline Corvin ARC Review

03.06.25 | jesslynnwrites | No Comments

Thank you to Caroline Corvin and Hayling Bookstorm for sending me an ARC copy of this book and giving me the chance to read this beautiful story. I am voluntarily writing this honest review.

Blindsided by You by Caroline Corvin book cover. It is a cartoon drawing of the two characters standing and kissing each other on rugby pitch. The goal is behind them along with some clouds and trees to represent the Scottish highlands. There is a rugby ball sitting on the pitch behind the male main character. The writing is in white and blue.

Synopsis

Jenna is the girl he wants, but doesn’t think he can have. Geordie is her best friend’s brother and yet she can’t help but be attracted to him. When they reconnect at a welcome home/team party, they feel a connection. Are they too scared to pursue something more than a casual relationship? Or will love conquer all?

We all know spice level is pretty subjective, but I would say this one has a medium amount of spice. There are some explicit scenes where sex is talked about and described in detail.

Review

I don’t know what is happening to me, but this is the second book in as many weeks that has made me cry. Or at least tear up. Guys! I don’t cry reading books! This was my first sports romance and I’m really glad it was. I didn’t go into this with any expectations other than that I hoped it would be a grand ole time. Turns out, it was that and more. I really related to Jenna. She has a hard time believing that she is worthy of love (I mean don’t we all have this feeling every once in awhile) and therefore she keeps people at arms length. I really just wanted to shake her and say that you truly are and you can trust Geordie to not break your heart.

Geordie was great! You almost expect that when reading a reverse age gap story that someone in the relationship is going to be immature to some degree. It wasn’t the case for this and just proves that age is but a number. Geordie was smart and kind and all the things you want in a younger MMC in an age gap romance novel. Now for that unexpected turn of events in the end. Don’t worry! No spoilers here! I honestly thought I was going to read a fun, fluffy sports romance. WRONG! I audibly went, ‘What?!” when I got to the scene in question.

This book has heart, real life issues, hot rugby players, a strong and independent FMC, and a more than meets the eye MMC. If you are looking for a sports romance that isn’t talked about to death on the Internet, I highly suggest picking this one up.

Out now!
