May Favorites: TV, Treats, & Tunes I Couldn’t Get Enough Of

This month was heavily entertainment and food filled. From tasty treats to even tastier tv shows, I had a pretty sweet month. Here are all my favorite things from May.

TV

TV poster of the tv show You on Netflix. It is red and black with the main character standing in water in a glassed in case. The writing is white and red.

You Final Season

I have been a fan of this show for a long time. In fact, I’ve been there right from the start when it was on some obscure channel that I can’t even remember. I have to admit though, when it got cancelled and I found out Netflix was picking it up I was excited. I knew it was going to get even better…and it did! This season was wild, as usual, and I mean! We all knew that was how it was going to end.

TV poster of the TV show Overcompensating. It has all the characters laying on each other in a pile. The writing is white, yellow, and blue.

Overcompensating

This show is AMAZING! So funny, so hilarious (yes! I know this is just a synonym of funny) and just nostalgic. If you were in college in the early 00s, then this is the show for you. I was giggling through every episode and just having a grand ole time. My favorite part…each episode it named for an early 00s song! What more could you want?!

TV poster of the TV show The Bold Type. The three main characters are lined up in formal dresses. The middle character is blowing kisses. There is confetti and the writing is gold.

The Bold Type

This is my comfort show and I really needed a rewatch of it this month. I was feeling really stuck and down about my current situation (not going to share here) and this show always boosts my morale. When I need to remind myself that I am a badass woman and can accomplishing anything I set my mind to, this is my go-to watch. The three main characters in this are my idols and I love them as if they were real.

TV poster of the TV show Mid-Century Modern. The three main characters are lined up. One is primping, one is shaving, and one is touching their hair. The writing is yellow, white, and green. The background color is a teal shade.

Mid-Century Modern

This show had me cackling from the first episode. So many icons are involved in this beautiful show about friendship. Matt Bomer, Nathan Lane, Linda Lavin, Nathan Lee…say less! I had the best time watching this.

Social Media

Allana Davison’s Everyday May Youtube videos

I have been following Allana for years and every one of her videos is a dopamine hit. I look forward to two times of the year on Youtube…Vlogmas and Everyday May. Allana’s videos are so much to watch and her personality is the best. She is so quirky and unapologetically herself, hence why I gravitated to her channel all those years ago. Just go watch.

Music

An image of an Apple Music playlist of The Bold Type music. It's black and red. Shows some of the songs on the playlist.

The Bold Type Playlist

I made an Apple Music playlist immediately after watching the first season of The Bold Type all those years ago. The music in this show is amazing! I will put this on when I need some background noise and this usually coincides with my rewatches.

Books

A book cover for Fall From Grace by Stephanie Napolitano. It has pink & black writing. There is a picture of New York City, a candelabra, and a woman's back.

Fall from Grace by Stephanie Napolitano

I won’t say much about this book here because I have a whole separate post/review on it. However, I will say that this was one of my favorite books I read this month and that it made me cry while reading. I can count on one hand how many times that has happened. I do not cry reading books, usually. If that doesn’t sell you on it, then I don’t know what will.

Food

An image of the Back to Nature Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies box. The box is orange with a pink strip at the top. There's an enlarged picture of the cookie. There is a yellow emblem near the picture. The writing is white and brown.

Back to Nature Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies

I was looking for a healthier option for a sweet treat and I really wanted some cookies. So I headed for the healthy section of my local grocery store and found these. I was expecting them to taste like cardboard (you know like most healthier options of our favorite foods). I was pleasantly surprised when they tasted exactly like one of my favorite cookies, Nutter Butters. My only gripe is that there are just not enough in a packet, lol!

Grapes

This was one of my hyper fixations of the month. When I’m craving fruit, my usual go to is grapes. I mean…what more can I say about these? I just loved grapes in May.

Celery and Veggie Dip

Another hyper fixation snack. And again, not much to say about celery and veggie dip other than that I don’t like to eat celery plain and I wanted to snack on something a bit healthier than the usual snacks I snack on.

An image of the Doughlicious gelato bites box. The box is blue with white and black writing. There is an enlarged image of the gelato bite and some chocolate chips. There is a black emblem to the right side of the image.

Douglicious Gelato Bites

This was the best purchase of the month. I suffer from dairy intolerance and acid reflux. And yet, I torture my poor tummy and still eat the dairy, lol! Well, with these I don’t have to worry about that because these are dairy free. It’s hard to find dairy free ice cream that doesn’t taste like crap. Luckily, these taste sooo good and like actual dairy ice cream. These are luscious pieces of goodness wrapped in a chocolate chip cookie dough layer. Perfect for those after meal sweet cravings.

That’s all she wrote! That was everything I was loving in May. I would love to know what you were hyper fixating on during the month. Let me know in the comments 🙂

Check out some of my previous favorite things here and here.
