June Favorites: Smelling Good, Feeling Things, & Craving Scotland

This month was filled with a lot of entertainment bits and bobs. I spent a lot of time watching lots of Scotland videos on TikTok and watching tons of movies and TV shows. Here is what I was loving in June.

Beauty

Versace Dylan Purple Perfume**

Versace Dylan Purple perfume bottle. The glass is a dark purple with a gold lid. There is the Versace emblem on the front. The bottle is sitting in front of a marble background and sitting on grayish/beige carpet.

I’m not the greatest at describing scents, but this one is the perfect combination of light, fruity, and a little bit florally. Yes, this is a bougie brand, but I couldn’t resist it when a couple of years ago I purchased one of those Sephora fragrance sample sets that come with a voucher for a full-size perfume. I instantly fell in love with it. I ended up wearing this all month, even if I didn’t end up leaving the house.

Social Media

Scotland TikTok

As I mentioned above, I have found myself on Scotland TikTok and I’m not mad about it. I think I have watching Outlander videos to blame for this. What I love most about this phenomenon is that now the occasional (or not so occasional) what to see in Scotland or just even a terrain video shows up. I get super giddy. I’m obsessed with all things Scotland right now!

Books

Blindsided by You by Caroline Corvin book cover. It is a cartoon drawing of the two characters standing and kissing each other on rugby pitch. The goal is behind them along with some clouds and trees to represent the Scottish highlands. There is a rugby ball sitting on the pitch behind the male main character. The writing is in white and blue.

Blindsided by You by Caroline Corvin

I had many book favorites this month (I gave out 4-star reviews like they were candy this month), but Blindsided by You has to be a top favorite. It was my first sports romance and I’m glad. Yes, I could have made the many, many popular sports romances my favorite but I like to support indie authors. I won’t say too much more here other than that I loved the rugby and Scotland of it all. You can read my full thoughts here.

Music

Love Again by Dual Lipa

I don’t always share my music favorites on the interwebs, but music is a very big part of my life. I love all kinds of music, but the one song that I had on repeat from the middle of June right til the end of the month was Love Again by Dua Lipa. The reason…I rewatched The Summer I Turned Pretty and this song plays in the last episode of season 2. I always forget how much I love this song and how hyped up it makes me. It’s the perfect song to dance around your room to. Dua Lipa is an amazing musician/singer and I just love her in general.

Movies/TV

TV poster of the TV show The Bold Type. The three main characters are lined up in formal dresses. The middle character is blowing kisses. There is confetti and the writing is gold.

Finale Episode of The Bold Type

This is my comfort show through and through. But, the finale episode is one of my favorite episodes of the whole show. I sob happy tears every single time I watch it. It’s the perfect combo of showing women going after what they want, finding their next chapters in life/career, and a beautiful friendship. The way that these three women support each other is hands down the most beautiful thing.

Where it gets me in the feels the most is when they all stand up and are just group hugging each other in their favorite place in the office…the fashion closet. It always reminds me of me and my three best friends. Even though this is the final episode of the whole show, it leaves you satisfied because it does kind of leave on a cliffhanger (they did know ahead of time that this was the last season when filming). I always find that yes, I do want to know what happens next but I also don’t want to know at the same time.

Movie poster for F*** Marry Kill. The characters are on a bright pink background. The writing is in yellow.

F Marry Kill

This movie was soo funny. One thing about me is that I will watch anything that Lucy Hale is in. I love her as a person (from what I can tell on social media and watching interviews) and I love her as an actress. She just has this vibe that I vibe with. Anyway, this movie is equal parts thriller and comedy. It’s just a fun, silly time.

What were some of your favorite things in June? Let me know in the comments.
