I had a rather ambitious mood reads list this month, but alas I didn’t make it through the whole list yet again. My reading this month was mainly focused on a lot of ARC reads. Here is everything I read in June.
E-Books
Blindsided by You by Caroline Corvin
This was one of many ARCs I read this month and it was great. You can read all about it and my thoughts here.
Holding the Reins by Paisley Hope
I fully blame Belle from @belleslibrarybooks for my newest ‘must read the whole series now‘ series obsession. I really enjoyed this one except for one small detail. Why is it that authors, specifically romance authors, feel the need to use the C-word? I absolutely despise this word and having to read it a million times while reading this was actually annoying.
There were soo many things I loved about this book; how strong the FMC was, how protective the MMC was of the FMC, the side characters, and the story. This story was so addicting. I could have probably read this in one setting it was that addicting. I’d say this book is for you if you like super open-door spice (borderline porn) and you like a cowboy romance that has a side of sports romance storyline. Paisley does provide an author’s note that explains some trigger warnings, but I would recommend looking them up before picking this one up.
Morning Glory Girl by Maria Anne Lenihan
Another ARC read for me this month. This was giving Hallmark. It was also a little touch and go there for a while whether I was actually enjoying it. You can read my full review here.
A Bargain So Bloody by Vasilisa Drake
I did say I did a lot of ARC reading this month and this is yet another one. I won’t say much, but it was good. I was leaning towards a star rating of 3, but the way the twist was revealed at the end bumped it up to a 3.75. I’ll admit I had my suspicions about how it would end. I can’t wait to read more of the story. For my full thoughts, check out this post.
Hell-Bound by B.E. Francis
I can honestly say I have never read a fantasy/romantasy like this one. This one involves a half-mortal/half-fae FMC and a Devil MMC, the latter of which I have never read before. I have read books with fae and devil characters in them, but not as the main characters. This was a good time and you can read about all my thoughts over here.
Audiobooks
The Dagger and the Flame by Catherine Doyle
I think I would have appreciated this one a little more if I would have immersive read it. I did find myself kind of disassociating and not really paying attention. However, I did enjoy the dual narration and dual pov. The only thing I would say that would make it even better for me is if the male narrator read the MMC parts in the FMC chapters and vice versa.

You might be wondering why I have this book on this twice. Well, I did some immersive reading with this one and listened to the audiobook version while also following along with the e-book version. Icebreaker by Hannah Grace
This book was SOOO boring. I wanted to read it because I was curious about what the hype was. That was a mistake! Sometimes a popular Booktok book is just not worth it.
Love Beyond the Veil by Emerie Spark
I’m actually really sad about this one. When I read the little synopsis, it sounded so interesting. When I started reading it, I just couldn’t get past how present time this story is set in. It really took me out of the story. I want to thank Tales and Teacups and Emerie for sending me an ARC copy and allowing me to read this story. Even if I didn’t jive with it.
Favorite read of the month: This is tough because I read some great books this month, but I think I’m gonna go with Hell-Bound by B.E. Francis (out now). It was just so different from anything I’ve read in this genre.
